California’s Gubernatorial Primary Election is June 2 and early voting has already begun. All registered voters should receive a mail-in ballot from the San Diego County Registrar of Voters this week. If you want to vote in person, you can go to a vote center to cast your ballot.
- May 4 – Ballots started going out in the mail. If you don’t receive a pamphlet or a ballot this week, check your voter registration status on the County Registrar of Voters website.
- May 5 to June 2 – You can drop off your signed and sealed mail ballot at any of our three city library locations during regular hours. On Election Day, June 2, libraries will accept ballots from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. New this year, ballot drop boxes at Poinsettia Park, Buena Vista Reservoir Park and Pine Avenue Community Park will be open 24 hours a day until 8 p.m. on June 2.
- May 18 – Deadline to register to vote. You can update your voter information or register online if needed. (If you miss the deadline, you can conditionally register until Election Day at any voting center.)
- Starting May 23 – Select vote centers in the county will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Election Day.
- Starting May 30 – Allvote centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Election Day. There are six vote centers in Carlsbad, or you can go to any voting center in the county.See the full list.
- June 2, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. – All vote centers, official ballot drop boxes, and the Registrar’s office will be open longer hours on Election Day.
