The City Council generally meets three times a month on Tuesdays. Meeting agendas are posted to this page at least 72 hours prior to each regularly scheduled Council meeting and at least 24 hours prior to special meetings. (Special meetings are meetings that are not part of the approved annual calendar of City Council meetings. For example, a meeting might moved to a new date or time due to scheduling conflicts, or additional meetings might be required to handle city business.)

In Person
All Regular City Council meetings are held in person at 5 p.m.

Online
City Council meetings are streamed live on the city website and can also be watched at a later date (view archive). Specific agenda items can be accessed by clicking on the topic to see that part of the meeting.

On TV
City Council meetings are aired live on the city's cable channel Spectrum (formerly Time Warner) 24 and AT&T U-Verse 99, and they replay throughout the week. Check the City TV schedule for times

Provide in-person comments

• Please fill out a public comment card and turn it in to the City Clerk prior to the commencement of public comment for the item you wish to speak to.

Provide written comments

• Email comments to clerk@carlsbadca.gov. Comments received by 2 p.m. the day of the meeting will be shared with the City Council prior to the meeting. When e-mailing comments, please identify in the subject line the agenda item to which your comments relate. All comments received will be included as part of the official record. Written comments will not be read out loud.

  • Raise your hand when the Clerk calls for speakers for the item you wish to comment on.
  • Unmute yourself when called on by the Clerk.

  • Press *9 when the Clerk calls for speakers for the item you wish to comment on.
  • The Clerk will then call on the last four numbers of your telephone number.
  • Press *6 to unmute yourself to speak.
