Public safety is the city’s top priority. The security measures for TGIF concerts follow the latest best practices for large public events while maintaining the concerts' community feel.

Here's what you can expect when you attend a TGIF concert:

Security screening

Security screening stations will be set up at the concert venue entrances. Professional event security guards will conduct bag checks and use a handheld wand to check for prohibited items:

Not allowed in parks

  • Guns (including replicas, toy guns, squirt guns)
  • Projectile throwing devices
  • Illegal substances, drug paraphernalia
  • Fireworks, sparklers, pyrotechnic and smoke or incendiary devices
  • Animals (service animals are allowed)
  • Drones, other radio/remote-controlled aircraft, cars or similar devices
  • Bikes, skateboards, scooters, other personal motorized devices
  • Laser pens, pointers
  • Unauthorized and unlicensed vending
  • Smoking, including vaping
  • Flags, signs or anything else that might block someone’s view
  • Gas grills
  • Open flame (BBQ pits, campfires, etc.)

Questionable items will be subject to review by Police Department staff.

Okay to bring

  • Food and utensils (there will not be food vendors this year so we recommend packing a picnic)
  • Alcohol (please drink responsibly and never drink and drive). Glassware and alcoholic beverages will be allowed, consistent with previous years.
  • Low-back chairs
  • Bug spray and sunblock
  • Umbrellas (these will need to be put away once the band starts)

All concert attendees will be screened, except small children and babies.

Reasonable accommodations will be made for people with disabilities.

Event space fencing

A low temporary fence will be put up around the event space, and signs will direct attendees to entrances and exits.
