Donate, Don't Waste Collection Event
Saturday, April 11, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Shoppes at Carlsbad (southwest parking lot), 2561 El Camino Real
Give your gently used items a second life by donating them instead of sending them to the landfill. Items accepted include small home appliances, clothing, electronics and more. This event supports local reuse programs through Goodwill, helping reduce waste while benefiting others in our community. No registration required.
Shred & Recycle It! Event
Saturday, April 11, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Carlsbad location provided upon registration
Securely shred and recycle sensitive documents in an environmentally responsible way. Bring up to five standard-sized boxes (10” x 12” x 15”) of paper for free shredding and help reduce waste while ensuring your personal documents are properly disposed of.
Advanced registration and proof of Carlsbad residency required. Registration will open on the Republic Services Carlsbad website in March.
Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Green Business Expo
Wednesday, April 15, 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce parking lot, 5934 Priestly Drive
Visit the booths of our many green businesses, enjoy a high school robotics team competition, drop off your e-waste and sample food from local restaurants and beer from our local green breweries.
Admission is free to the public. The event will showcase the area’s businesses that make the Carlsbad – San Diego region one of the most sustainable areas in the world.
Learn about green business practices you can implement in your own businesses and at home, and how it pays to be green.
Earth Month Celebration

Join us for a day of sustainability-focused activities, workshops and demonstrations. Learn practical ways to live more sustainably, from clothing swaps to composting. The event will feature local vendors and organizations committed to environmental protection, plus hands-on activities to help you reduce your impact at home.
Fixit Clinic and Repair Event
Saturday, April 25, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Georgina Cole Library, 1250 Carlsbad Village Drive
Learn how to extend the life of household items through repair, not disposal. Bring your broken items—bikes, appliances, clothing and more—and get hands-on guidance from volunteer coaches. We’ll provide workspace, specialty tools and support to help you take apart, troubleshoot and repair your items. Even if we can't fix it, you'll gain valuable insight into how it was made and how it works, helping you make more informed repair decisions in the future.
Registration is preferred; walk-ins are welcome. Register online.
Electronic Waste Recycling Event
Saturday, April 25, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Georgina Cole Library, 1250 Carlsbad Village Drive
Dispose of old electronics responsibly at our e-waste recycling event. Republic Services will collect broken or outdated electronics for proper recycling, ensuring that materials are reused rather than ending up in landfills.
Creek to Bay Cleanup
Saturday, April 25, 9 a.m. to noon
Register for a cleanup site starting April 1
Lend a hand in cleaning up our local beaches and waterways! Join the City of Carlsbad and I Love A Clean San Diego during the annual Creek to Bay Cleanup. This is a region-wide event where participants remove more than 30,000 pounds of litter and debris across San Diego County. Every bit of waste collected makes a difference in preserving the health of our local environment.
Register for a hosted location or stay close to your home and collect waste in your neighborhood.
