Crime prevention

Sometimes general crime issues are attributed to homelessness when the crimes might actually not be perpetrated by members of the homeless population. The Police Department is aware of and actively working to address resident concerns about crime and other neighborhood quality of life issues. Please let them know of any suspicious activity you notice so they can follow up. The non-emergency number is 442-339-2197. Call 9-1-1 for emergencies.

The Police Department Crime Prevention Unit's goal is to reduce the threat of crime and increase the quality of life through research, program development and public education. Personalized programs are created to meet the unique needs of the City of Carlsbad’s residents, children, businesses, seniors, crime victims, tourists and others. Below are a few crime prevention and neighborhood safety resources.
