The City of Carlsbad is committed to addressing the problem of homelessness in our community and has devoted local resources toward this goal. To meet the goals of the City Council's 5-Year Strategic Plan, staff are implementing an updated Homelessness Action Plan to reduce homelessness and its effects on the community.
The Homelessness Action Plan continues the city's strategy of focusing on programs that will make the biggest difference for Carlsbad.

Number homeless in Carlsbad down 20%
The number of people experiencing homelessness in Carlsbad has decreased by 20% since 2020, while the countywide number increased by 10%, based on the latest regional count, released May 19.

Homeless outreach team virtual office hours
Join members of Carlsbad’s homeless outreach team for a conversation about homelessness issues during monthly office hours. Community members will have a chance to share their ideas and concerns and brainstorm ways to get more involved in the issue.
