Carlsbad Senior Center Lunch Shuttle Service
A lunch shuttle service is available Mondays through Fridays for Carlsbad residents age 60+ who are unable to drive. Participants must be fully independent and able to walk without staff assistance. Canes and walkers are okay. We cannot accommodate wheelchairs at this time. There is a suggested voluntary contribution of $4 per roundtrip. Contributions are confidential, and no eligible person shall be denied service for choosing not to contribute.
Advanced registration and approval are required before scheduling a ride. To register, contact the Nutrition Team at 442- 339–2651 or SeniorCenterServices@carlsbadca.gov.
Registered participants can schedule or cancel a ride by calling or texting the shuttle line at 760-613–8042. Reservations must be made at least one day in advance.

In the City of Carlsbad, local public transportation, including train, bus and shuttle services, is provided by the North County Transit District. NCTD BREEZE Buses offer convenient, comfortable options for getting around and stopping near major grocery stores, clinics, and community centers. LIFT is a curb-to-curb transportation service operated by North County Transit District (NCTD) for individuals who are ADA-certified and unable to use regular bus or train routes. Rides can be scheduled for medical appointments, grocery shopping, or other essential trips and must be booked at least one day in advance. Service is available within 3/4 miles of NCTD routes. RideFACT | factsd.org
RideFACT is a low-cost, curb-to-curb dial-a-ride service for seniors 60+ and individuals with disabilities, available throughout San Diego County. Operated by Facilitating Access to Coordinated Transportation (FACT), this program offers rides for medical visits, errands, and other essential needs. Trips are typically $5–$20 and should be booked 3 to 7 days in advance by calling (888) 924-3228 or visiting factsd.org.

Medi-Cal offers transportation services to help eligible beneficiaries access covered medical, dental, mental health, and pharmacy services. There are two types of support: Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) for individuals who require a wheelchair van, ambulance, or litter van due to medical or physical conditions; and Non-Medical Transportation (NMT) for those who can use regular public or private transit but lack reliable access. NMT is available to all full-scope Medi-Cal recipients who have no other reasonable means of transportation and may include rides to recurring appointments. Transportation must be scheduled in advance and approved by your Medi-Cal provider. To request a ride or learn more, contact your health plan’s member services department.
