Camps & Classes
If you’re looking for ways for your kids to stay active and engaged, the City of Carlsbad offers some fun and exciting camps and classes with an emphasis on art, science and history surrounded by nature and historic buildings.
Programs for Brownies and Daisies
The City of Carlsbad is proud to be a Community Partner with Girl Scouts San Diego! We can help troops earn badges and patches. We offer scheduled 90-minute workshops which provide ample time to earn a badge and have lots of Girl Scouts fun! Please call 442-339-5042 for more information.
See below for more info about specific art badge & patch earning opportunities!
Daisy Outdoor Art Maker Workshop: Learn how to look at the natural world through the eyes of an artist! Scouts will discover why there are so few pink insects, make their own flower crown and complete all badge requirements.
Brownie Bug Badge Workshop: Explore the world of bugs! Scouts will experiment to find out what food ants like best, build a bee house for our native solitary bees and complete all badge requirements.
4th Grade Field Trips
Each year, all 4th grade classes from public schools located within the geographic boundaries of Carlsbad are invited to Leo Carrillo Ranch to participate in the free California History & Art Program. Students will learn about California history and the Rancho time period while visiting the working ranch of actor Leo Carrillo. Learn more about this program here.
Weddings and Private Events
Leo Carrillo Ranch is uniquely located to host a charming “destination” wedding or private event, even if you’re a local!
Activities may modify or cancel due to inclement weather.
