The City of Carlsbad’s Cultural Arts Office is kicking off its 2020 Community Arts Grants application cycle with two information sessions in September. New applicants are strongly encouraged to attend to learn about program guidelines and the application process. Participants may attend either session. The grant application deadline is Monday, Oct. 14, 2019 at 4 p.m.
The information session schedule is below.
Sept. 4, 2019, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Georgina Cole Library, Community Room 1250 Carlsbad Village Dr.
Sept. 16, 2019, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Carlsbad City Library, Gowland Meeting Room 1775 Dove Lane
At a Glance
Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations, schools and school-related organizations for visual, media, literary and performing arts projects taking place in Carlsbad.
Arts organizations located elsewhere in San Diego County are also eligible to apply, but funded activities must take place in Carlsbad.
Applicants have the option to attend a panel session to answer questions regarding their application.
Program staff will be offering one-on-one session appointments for applicants (sign up here) to ask questions about the grant process, application and procedures. Any applicant taking advantage of the one-on-one sessions must attend an information session.
Total funding amount of $88,000 includes $8,000 funding increase as part of the Carlsbad City Council approved Arts & Culture Master Plan.

The City of Carlsbad Cultural Arts Office serves to encourage, develop and facilitate an enriched environment of artistic, creative and cultural activity in the City of Carlsbad and the Northern San Diego County region. As a component of many services and activities, the Cultural Arts Office manages funding programs to provide financial support to organizations, schools and individuals for various projects through a competitive application and review process.
