New Year's Health & Wellness

Managing stress and staying fit will no doubt top many New Year’s resolution lists. With 2021 now here, the City of Carlsbad is here to help with both those needs. We will continue to provide both virtual and reduced capacity, in-person classes for youth and adults.

Fitness and outdoor activities

This weekly class is designed to support families by providing kids ages 7 to 15 years with outdoor activities after spending a long day in their virtual classrooms. Supervised activities include hikes, nature walks, environmental projects, exploration and live animals all in the beautiful and tranquil setting of Leo Carrillo Ranch. This class meets weekly on Wednesdays or Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. beginning Jan. 13 for a four-week period.

At the end of class relax side by side with a relaxation story. Class is geared towards families with young children. This class meets weekly on Fridays from 10 to 10:45 a.m. beginning Jan. 15 for a four-week period.

Aquatics
City of Carlsbad pools are open for lap swim, recreation swim, private swimming lessons and water fitness. All activities will be a modified and/or in a reduced-capacity format necessary to uphold guidelines set by the County of San Diego. Registration is required. No drop-ins.

City trails
The City of Carlsbad has approximately 67 miles of trails, supporting a healthy active lifestyle while protecting and preserving open space for residents to enjoy.
