The City of Carlsbad is offering programs to help residents ages 50+ during COVID-19 crisis:
Lunch program and other food resources
City of Carlsbad lunch program Carlsbad residents 60 and older can sign up for the weekday program which provides nutritious meals Monday through Friday for pick up at the Carlsbad Senior Center (delivery available).
Great Plates Program Qualifying seniors can receive three meals a day delivered to their homes through July 10.
2-1-1 San Diego lists several other food distribution services, including some that deliver to older adults, to veterans and one that provides meals that are kosher.
Grandfriends pen pal program receive uplifting letters in the mail from caring Kids for Peace youth all around the country. There is no obligation for “Grandfriends” to respond to the letters they receive, but they are welcome to if that would make them happy!
