Community Arts Grants

The City of Carlsbad Cultural Arts Office serves to encourage, develop and facilitate an enriched environment of artistic, creative and cultural activity in the City of Carlsbad and the Northern San Diego County region. As a component of many services and activities, the Cultural Arts Office manages funding programs to provide financial support to organizations, schools and individuals for various projects through a competitive application and review process.

  • An abbreviated funding period, with all applying projects taking place between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2020.
  • Program staff offered one-on-one session appointments for applicants to ask questions about the grant process, application and procedures.
  • Total funding amount of $88,000 includes $8,000 funding increase as part of the Carlsbad City Council approved Arts & Culture Master Plan

More information about Community Arts Grants 20/21 will be available in Spring 2020.

Special Opportunity Grants

Due to the abbreviated funding period, Special Opportunity Grants will not be offered for the CAG 2020 Cycle. Please check back in Spring 2020 for more information on CAG 2021 and Special Opportunity Grants 2021.

Special Opportunities grants are micro-grants for arts projects or events that become available after the deadline for the regular Community Arts Grants cycle has passed. Special Opportunities grants have a funding limit of $500 per application.
