The City of Carlsbad Cultural Arts Office serves to encourage, develop and facilitate an enriched environment of artistic, creative and cultural activity in the City of Carlsbad and the Northern San Diego County region. As a component of many services and activities, the Cultural Arts Office manages funding programs to provide financial support to organizations, schools and individuals for various projects through a competitive application and review process.
The Cultural Arts Office is excited to announce the upcoming 2020 Community Arts Grants cycle, with a few new improvements and additions to the resources that we offer. All information is included in the CAG 2020 Guidelines, including:
An abbreviated funding period, with all applying projects taking place between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2020.
Applicants have the option to attend a panel session to answer questions regarding their application.
Program staff will be offering one-on-one session appointments for applicants (sign up here) to ask questions about the grant process, application and procedures. Any applicant taking advantage of the one-on-one sessions must attend an information session.
Total funding amount of $88,000 includes $8,000 funding increase as part of the Carlsbad City Council approved Arts & Culture Master Plan

Special Opportunity Grants 2020: More Information Coming Soon
Special Opportunities grants are micro-grants for arts projects or events that become available after the deadline for the regular Community Arts Grants cycle has passed. Special Opportunities grants have a funding limit of $500 per application.
