Pine Avenue Community Center

Teen programs are dedicated to providing teens with fun, creative and healthy activities in a safe, supervised environment. By taking advantage of opportunities to meet and socialize, teens create friendships that last a lifetime.

Teen Culinary Lab
Thursdays, 3 - 4 p.m., ages 11 – 18 yrs
Chef Kyle will offer weekly virtual cooking classes to inspire fresh and healthy afterschool snacks and meals that can be prepared from the family kitchen.

Virtual Dungeons & Dragons Club
Fridays, 3 - 4:30 p.m., ages 11 – 18 yrs
Through D&D teens will have the opportunity to exercise creativity in not only creating a unique character but also with interactions in the world. They will learn how to work together to overcome challenges that no single person can achieve on their own. Develop social skills through role-playing as mighty adventurers and make long-lasting friendships. Join virtual D&D Club today!

Esports Tournament: Fortnite
Friday, May 21
7 – 10 p.m., ages 10 -14
Announcing Synchronicity Carlsbad: the ultimate online Fortnite battle! In partnership with GameSync, fellow gamers will get to flex their esports skills to dominate the playing field and win some cool gaming prizes. Space is limited. Live on Zoom.

L.I.T.E Leadership in Training & Education Program
L.I.T.E program is currently postponed at this time as the city is closely following the state and county public health orders to help slow the spread of COVID-19. In the meantime, please join one of our other virtual teen programs today!

L.I.T.E. is an afterschool program for Carlsbad 6th - 9th graders who wish to develop skills in leadership, teamwork, communication and community service. The program requires a commitment from participants to attend regularly after school from 2 - 6 p.m. Each month will focus on a different theme like the environment, history, health and goals. LITE is closed during school holidays.
